Some people may have found a mention of a particular “anniversary", but what can we say?Declare now. 2022 is the Year of the Age. Age of Empires IV not only turns one year old in October, but also celebrates the franchise’s 25th anniversary in the same month.

New Civilizations Coming in Anniversary Updates
If you missed the segments of gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live, you’ll be thrilled to learn that a new civilization is coming to Age of Empires IV in the October Anniversary Update. You need to own the base game to play, but the update and its content are completely free! From October 25th, re-engrave your name in history and play the latest civilizations: the Ottoman Empire and Mali.
It will lead the powerful Malian of West Africa to one of the wealthiest trading nations of all time and focus on its strong economic power in gold mining and investment. Or use the Ottoman civilization and its well-trained military might to build one of the longest-lasting empires in history. It features the Great Bombard, the largest gunpowder siege weapon.
In addition to these two civilizations, the free anniversary update also includes new maps, achievements, and mastery, along with content announced in Season 3 on the June 2022 roadmap. Mark October 25 in your calendar. It’s going to be a great day for Age of Empires IV!
